    I've tried multiple USB cables and different power outlets. Same results. I don't have another HDD case or HDD to try.

    I have a 500GB Western Digital, USB powered hard drive and it does the same thing on certain games.
    It doesn't happen on all games though.
    The USB cable that came with it is only 8" long.

    I will try a longer USB cable and ferrite clamps and report back.
