First thing I would try is a different HDD. You could also try relocating your HDD and use a different electrical outlet, move the HDD away from the TV, Wii, and A/V cables. Try a different USB wire or two. Buy an external USB HDD.

It doesn't happen on all games though.
The USB cable that came with it is only 8" long.
I will try a longer USB cable and ferrite clamps and report back.
