Mplayer and wii 4.0

I have a modded wii. It has the wiikey 2 and also the homebrew channel. I decided to install the mplayer so I could watchdvd movies. The installitation seemed to go fine but when I put a dvd move in and open mplayer and tell it to play the movie all it does is spin the disk and then stops. Has anyone seen this before? In not could you please point me to a good giude and I will try to install it again.

you need to install dvdx to enable your wii to rtead dvds

I have dvdx installed and it still does not work. Any more ideas? Also thank you for your time and help.
