what should i do to my wii

Hi, I have a couple of questions...

I have just bought a wii and I would like to know what the best/safest way to get backup games working on it.

    The serial is LEH218XXXXXX

it has firmware 3.3e on it

What are the draw backs of having a mod chip in the wii... would I be able to update the wii and still play games online?

I have read that v4 is out and it has caused some problems, would it be best to wait until there is a chip working 100% with v4 before getting my chip?

I'm fairly confident that I can install the chip my self as I have (and still do) work with electrical equipment.

Would I be able to play back up games with out a modchip? (with 3.3e)

Will moding my wii disable any features (ie - the use of wifi, wii fit etc)

Is there any new mod chips coming out soon that offer more features than the current ones on the market?

Sorry for all the questions, and thanks to anyone who takes their time to answer

    Regards
    Chris

do you not have to upgrade to the latest version to play on line? or is 4.0 fine with mod chips?

what exactly is the reason to not up grade to v4.0 if you already have the HBC running?

my wii was originai was originally 3.2 i sent it to spiktsu to put the wasabi in it then got it back it played everything that i had but then i upgraded it to 3.4 then decided to take the hb plunge and i took it back to 3.2 , starfall FTMFW....

It's not beneficial for me to upgrade to 4.0 since hombrew loads my 2g card just fine.... plus it holds all my softmii stuff and nes emu and snes emu with 1800 ish roms..... So I AM SET!!!!! since i put ios 38,53,55 on there i havent had ANY probs, with any games

sorry to keep asking but what do you mean by 'optimal' why do you find 3.2 to be optimal when v4 does everything 3.2 does and more? why not just upgrade to v4?

there must be a reason for people staying with 3.2 and not upgrading to v4?

also another question what is wrong with 3.3e? what are the differances compared to 3.2 in a modding respect?

if you upgrade to 4.0 some homebrew stuff will not work. 3.2 is the better sys menu for hacking, you have more controll over the system 4.0 has some changes that pertain to SD cards which I believe soon you will be able to use on 3.2, we are just waiting for someone to find the way. I have a softmodded Wii ising this method http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...atutorial.html and it is the best one that I have tried. I have over 40 burned games and have not had any problems playing any of them on 3.2. Version 4.0 does not allow you to put the Twilight Hack on the Wii so if it is not hacked befor the update you will not be able to do so. The hack that I gave the link to is a very good one and works AWESOME. I recomend it to anyone wanting to hack the Wii without having to buy a mod chip. Just my opinion.
