Starting a new project: Firewire Wii Sensor Bar Mod

Ok i'd like to point out the wireless sensor bars are great, if you can only remember to turn them off. Thats why i'm ditching mine. I saw a tutorial for a USB powered Wii bar but the bar lacked the proper voltage and the sensor bar struggled. I need a better alternative.

I noticed that most cable boxes and almost every DVR has at least one firewire port. I love powering things through firewire, upto 30v. So this will be my first wii mod project.

I just need help finding a cheap wired wii bar to experiment with.
If anyone knows where to find a cheap one, or would like to donate please reply. Meanwhile i'm gonna start froogling and ebaying.

I want to use an original nintendo branded wii bar so i can compare my modded wii bar with a unmodded one
