    Lightbulb To update or not

Hey guys. Long time member. Rarely visit any more. And couldn't remember old login (wii_man).
Anyways. I took the wii out of my sons room a few months back. Just got around to putting it back and had some issues getting games on hard drive to work. Finally got it working through neogamma.
Question is. I want to start using USB loader gx of cfg ( current gx freezes on black screen). I've been away so long what would the most up to date be. ?
Second question. My wii is still at 4.1. Is there any need to update to 4.3. I don't have any games that require it yet.
Lasty. What cool tools am I missing out on ? I'm sure there is some stuff I should be addin.
Normally strapped for time. Nut off for another month so hope to get some quality PC time in and catch up on what I missed lol

Read the softmod Any Wii guide that is linked in my signature. It should answer all of your questions, and give you instructions on how to update it.

4.1 is right where you want to be, anything beyond that was only made for anti-Homebrew purposes. What I recommend doing, since it sounds like your mod is severely outdated, is to go to our Softmod ANY Wii guide and start from the spoiler that says "Softmods with HOMEBREW CHANNEL installed". Once you've finished the guide your Wii should be all set and have the latest IOS and cIOS sets.

Thanks guys. Waiting on pc to cooperate. Using ipod right now. That's next on my list.

I used that guide I believe the first time. Hopefully second time is just as smooth

Sorry first dumb question. Part 2 say to update ?
Download IOS Update.zip (If you are on a System Menu version other than 4.3, you need this!)

Will this update me to 4.3 or just the files needed

It will only give you the beneficial IOS 4.3 introduced, your system menu will remain on whatever it currently is.

Also, please use the edit button next time unless 24hrs has passed or someone else has replied. Making multiple consecutive posts is against forum rules

I am in the same situation as kdawger... I followed the update links, loaded all of the wad files, and got it all up and running again. Now however if I place a disk in the drive (just dance 2014) instead of the disk channel it says "system update". I have not tried opening that channel since I saw that. Reading this thread informs me that 4.1 is where I want to stay (I was curious about updating). My question is how do I get rid of the "system update" on the disk cannel?

Hold reset till Priiloader loads. Then enable "Block Disc Updates"...if you followed the guide to the end it would've had you do that already.
