    Wii is too DAMN EXPENSIVE!

    I wanna buy a wii and mod it but i feel violated that i still have to pay close to 400$ (canada) for a damn wii and prob more if I need to pay to get it moded.
    I mean, its a 3 year old console already! I guess nintendo won't want to do a price drop as long as the wii is still selling like crazy.Even on ebay ppl ask for ridiculous amounts.

    I'm still hoping there might be a price drop in 2009... but I dont think I should hold my breath on this one. I mean I payed 400$ for my xbox about 3 years ago and had it ''flashed'' for 30$. In 2009 wii price still hasnt changed, good chips and installation is around 70$+ easily from what ive seen on sites.

    Ive been really interested getting a moded wii but I just feel like prices are too high even now after 3 years, not to mention the fact Wii moding and game compatibility looks a lot more complicated, unstable and risky then on a flashed xbox360 (ive never had a prob with mine, no flashware or updates bs, all games work and i dont have to worry about a thing).

    Well, what do u guys think? Could I expect a wii price drop soon or am I just a cheap winning prick lol?

    Well you are being a whinny prick, lol. You asked , but Wii's here are only 250$ then a clip in chip is like 80$. Why don't you order a pre-modded Wii for about 350$ from a site, or look at ones people on here might be selling.

    $532 total so far ... and I haven't even gotten into the games yet.

    If you were to fully deck out your system with 4 WiiMotes and 4 Chucks, you're looking at another $250, the cost of the system alone. It's amazing how people think the Wii is a value. It's not expensive, but it's not cheap either.

    Winning prick -,_-,

    nintendo sold the most Wiis/DS's during the holiday/post holiday seasons... why would they lower the price, when getting a DS during/after christmas was a hard task?!

    in addition youre looking at a 350 or so FINAL USER price, not start up price...

    system 250
    modchip + wiiclip = like 40 or so
    spindel of 100 dvd's -r = 15
    sd card = 4
    ---------------
    309 + tax in USD FINAL -,_-, so costly

    in addition in the end, the wii is still the cheapest system... Xbox is nowhere near it, the reason it droped in price is guess what, no one wants it, even flashing it is pointless

    yeah you can play backups, but you got a xbox how many games are you gonna play.... that dont require Live in the end? and why would you pay 50 usd to only get banned at some point?

    the end user price for Xbox is MUCH HIGHER, and MUCH LESS to do...
    system = 200
    flashing drive = 60
    xbox live = 50 yearly
    headset = 20
    game that you can safely play on xbox live = 60 per
    ----------------------------------------------------- (no one is playing xbox for the great offline titles -,_-, its almost 100% live)

    390 usd + tax .....

    and ps3 costs the most which is still more than all of those but in the end, ps3 has no titles so it makes no difference =\

    Try reading up on this forum a bit and spend $249 for the Wii and soft mod it. You don't necessarily need a mod chip installed. And i doubt also that the Wii will have a price drop anytime soon. These things are still hard to get and always have been.

    you need LOZ, and thats 40, also most places if you return a game, like gamestop will give you store credit if that =\

    and in the end, youre saving like 20, and only making more problems for yourself

    Rent it, it's much cheaper. Once you downgrade, you don't need it any longer. It's a 1 time deal.

    ^ a lot of places dont support renting, and since its a older title not every store has it any more, were doing things in realistic things =P

    ahh kk.. didn't know the game was not available for rent. If so, then maybe mod chip is the way to go.
