Okay, I need to take a step back here. As much as I would REALLY like to go get a WD 1Tb drive. I don't see how we can do this financially speaking. In the midst of all this, we're actually in the process of moving. Neither my wife or I are working currently either. To some it may seem odd to be concerned about such things, but for all intensive purposes, our Wii is really our only form of entertainment and relief from stress due to having to sell (short sale) our home.

Having said all that, I was going through the storage closet in our den. As I mentioned before I've a pile of computer parts, specifically a half dozen hard drives. Most are smaller ones that are 100GB or less. But I do have one Hitachi Deskstar 250GB sata drive that i don't use anymore. I looked at the compatibility list again. And I have to say, it's changed ALOT since I last reviewed it! Specifically, I noted there's now an enclosure section. Although be it a brief one.

Since the drive I have isn't a known compatible one, will it be worth the headaches attempting to get it to work? When I mean work, all I wish to do is back up some of our more games onto it via the wii. Our computer is an older p4 dell, that's under powered. (Only has 256mb of rambus pc800 memory) And I've had issues burning stuff on it before. I'd also like to mention, until I do get a drive that I know is newer (recommended). That all I'll be doing is formating it to fat32 and then making a wbfs directory on it as well. I won't be moving any of the data or stuff off the sd drive for now. Since it seems that picking an enclosure is pretty much hit or miss, is there any one brand that's more likely to work that I can use as a starting point?

There is one other option. For the last few weeks I've been trying to barter off some stuff in an attempt to get myself either a ps3 or a mountain bike. (ps3 for more "adult games" and blu-ray, bike because doc wants me to loose more weight). I live in the western suburbs of Chicagoland. (zip 60516). If anyone in the area has a spare, known compatible drive and wants to work out some deal, pm me please!
