okay, so now I have a 4.1u system menu. It's not asking me to update anymore luckily...but now what? how do I play the game?
I'm not trying to play the game off of usb but through disk. I've already played super smash bros through the disc channel, but the game monster hunters tri isn't being recognized through the disc channel. what am I supposed to do? Am I supposed to download something else to play the game on my disc channel? I've tried to use Neogamma to play the game, but it just reloads the menu and nothing happens...

Is it a backup disc or retail?

he said it was a backup about 10 posts ago. you will need Neogamma to play that backup.

I do have neogamma, I doesn't do anything when I use it... I go to it and it just gets stuck on a black screen until I reset it.

can you confirm that it is a good rip? you may need to rerip it. as you just updated it I will assume your cIOS is up to date.

scratch that last part about what I said. it doesn't get stuck on a black screen, it just restarts and takes me back to the wii menu. I've tried to do it with 2 different games, monster hunters tri and kirbys return to dreamland. Neither disks are recognized through the disk drive and as I've said neogamma just restarts and takes me back to the wii menu. I also had super smash bros brawl before which worked when I played it through the disk drive, but now it doesn't even work ever since I've update to system menu 4.1. I don't think its the rip, I've tried 3 different games.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here... I burned monster hunters tri and kirby on 4.7 gb dvd+r disks at 4x speed. I'm on the correct wii menu - 4.1
Am I supposed to put some sort of specific layer break or something? Am I supposed to play it off of some other channel that I dont have?

If all three kick you back to main menu. It sounds like your softmod got wipped out. you will need to re mod it. If you have the HBC channel you should be able to start from that part in the guide. a system check for sure can tell us if your soft mod got wipped out.

hmm, alright, I'll go back and try to mod it again after the HBC channel step...
