"Motion Plus Inside" controller incompatible with homebrew, usb loader, etc.

Can someone please set the record straight on the "motion plus inside" controller incompatibility with homebrew issue for me. I bought a new wii with 2 motion plus controllers, tried to 'letterbomb' and once I got to 'press 1 to continue' the controller disconnected and would not sync back up. Please do not tell me to press the sync button, you can bet I tried everything.

As it turns out the issue was worked around easily by getting an older controller that does not have motion plus. This worked fine, I 'letterbombed' and put on a usb loader and put on my games, but still when I go to launch any games from the usb loader or do anything on homebrew, I need to use the old controller. The new controllers will not sync until the game loads. Once a game loads the new controllers sync up and work fine.

What is the deal with this, will it be fixed, is someone working on it? I want to know because I just borrowed this old controller, and if this will be a long term issue I am going to have to buy some old controllers. I have both controller types so if I can do something, provide some information that will help I will do anything.

Thanks for the pawn shop advice, I can get used controllers just around the corner, my question was really about if this is a know issue or not and if so what is known about it.

this is odd to me since both of mine are the newer motion plus controllers

So you can't just say they are out right incompatible with homebrew
