Cannot install Wads from SD card - Keep erroring out

I'm hoping someone can help me with my troubling issue. I've tried researching and cannot find anything specific on this and could really use some guidance.

About a year ago, my wii (3.2U, modded using Twilight Disc) would randomly not load backup games. Over time it stopped loading them altogether. Next, the original discs wouldn't play either. Since then I have not been able to play anything on my Wii.

I also have another Wii (4.1U) that is experiencing the same issue. I used a now older tutorial named 'New 3.1-4.1 Softmod for ANY Wii'.

I have tried updating the IOS's and each time it says it cannot find it on the card (even though they're there, and installed right from the root based off of the file provided that has worked for many others). I have even tried the 'new' guide to 'Softmmod Any Wii' that everyone else is using. Once again I get hung up on the Wads and it does not find the Wads - says they do not exist.

Any ideas from anyone? As an example, I was able to load up Kirby's Return to Dreamland with Neogamma 7 and get to the start menu. However when I hit '2' to bring up the game menu, it locks up on me and forces me to unplug the system to restart it.

I know some of this seems vague, but hopefully someone can help. I'm just so tired and frustrated at this point, since I've been struggling for hours, that ANY help would be very greatly appreciated.

Try doing an official nintendo update, and start over using mauifrog's guide (Softmod any Wii) . Make sure to format the SD Card and try that before starting over, because that can be very helpful in certain situations.

When you say official Nintendo update, are you talking about when using the "update all IOS's" guide, to change your source for each IOS from the SD card to 'Nintendo'? That won't hurt or brick my Wii in any way? I'm willing to try it, but just want reassurance that updating my IOS's direct from Nintendo won't instantly brick my Wii.

    Thanks!

It's never a good idea to take a Nintendo update, unless you're bricked and have no choice.
@sigbro, post a system check so we can see what's going on in that wii of yours.
Use syscheck 2.0.1 beta14, or beta15, and post results here.

Sigbro. hey dude it looks like your cios could do with an update.60,70,80, 200,202,222,223,224,247,248,249,250, you have 249 rev14 249 rev 20, they have been superseded. You should find them all in the mod any wii guide, If you look there is an ios cios pack. read the instructions and you will be up and running again.
Remember to install priloader and set up the Hacks to stop disc and online updates.
Use MMM 13.4 to install your wads,Something tells me WAD manager 1.7 will not run on your present setup.

I'm at work can't view my own setup. sorry!

    Enjoy your Wii!

Thanks for the info, however the problem I'm having is that when I load the wads on an SD card (SanDisk 1 GB) that when it goes to find those wads to update, it says they cannot be found on the card (when in fact they are there).

Maybe I'm being thick headed and missing something, and I know the 'Mod any Wii' guide will work for me, but my roadblock is that it can't seem to find the IOS's when I go to update them.

The wads need to be in a folder called "Wad" that is on the root of your SD.

The wads are always at the root of the SD card in a folder called Wads. I'll try it all again and see if anything does magically change for me. I'll let you all know.

Are you compling the wads yourself. Are you gathering your wads elswhere to make your own Cios setup. (when you load the wads)If you are using Mauis Guide you format SD card then unzip straight to root of SD all we be in the right place. Is your SD card full ?
Make sure your wads are from a trusted source. If you have lots of apps etc on your card save them to PC and start fresh.
