Make sure your wads are from a trusted source. If you have lots of apps etc on your card save them to PC and start fresh.
Sorry guys, I haven't had a chance to try it out again yet. I'm hoping to have time later today.

When I use the Wads, I am gathering them from a trusted source, and I have never had any issues in the past installing wads...this is why i'm confused. They are always at the root of the SD card, and the SD card is not full - it only has the wads (and other essental backup items) on it, so it's clean of everything else, and I always ensure it's been freshly placed on the card.

I'll attempt again later today and let you know.

Ok, I tried using the mod any wii guide, which I tried the other day. I extracted the xip file named 'MMM-58-61' to the root of the SD card (as I'm supposed to) and ensured the WAD folder was at the root. Same deal..get an error.

Itook a screenshot of the error. Here is the link:

I also tried installing them individually ather than all in one. Same deal.

    This is using MMM 13.2

    Any ideas?

Have you checked the error index?

    -1:
Wad Install Error:Most likely you have cIOS installed incorrectly, out of date, or missing.Your SD card is not Formatted as FAT16 or FAT32 properly, reformat it. If a file was needed, then it was not in the correct folder. Each application needs its files in specific folders, so pay attention to that. Can also be a bad wad or not enough space on the Wii. (example: If your installing cios38rev17 offline make sure you have ios38-64-v3867 on the root of your sd)

I did try the error index the other day. I tried formatting the card as FAT 16 and 32, Deleted items off the Wii in case there wasn't enough space, as for the wad being bad, it came from MauiFrog's guide which is one of the best here, and many others have used Maui's files/methods and worked flawlessly.

I am banging my head against the wall as to what could be causing this. If it was on one Wii, I could understand, but it's on 2 Wii's I have...and I just can't seem to figure it out.

Correct. I'm using the wads provided in MauiFrog's Mod any Wii guide. Nothing altered on my end. It is being placed at the root of the SD card. Has anyone heard anything about Nintendo basically "bricking" your Wii so you can't updare cIOS's anymore? Just wondering, because this is really strange.

I am going to try placing he items on another SD card and see if that makes a difference. Probably won't, but I'll give it a shot anyway.

UPDATE: So I tried using my other SD Sandisk card and same results - error with the WAD. I'm really going nuts with this now, I don't understand why I can't update the Wads.

What exactly are you trying to do because to me it looks like you are trying to trucha sign ios36... If you are following The Mod Any Wii Guide then this doesn't even look like a step thats even covered in there...

I'm following the Softmod any Wii guide as it says. The part where I am getting the error would be at the 'Part 1- Launch Hackmii Installer' section, and within it, I'm using the 'Softmod with Homebrew Channel installed' section. Since the Wii's have been previously modded, and homebrew is already on my Wiis, I figured I would follow this section, since it says, "If you already have a softmod with HBC installed, you can update your softmod with this guide."

Something wrong? Should I be following another section of this? For what it's worth, I tried doing the 'Bannerbomb v1' and 'Bannerbomb v2' in respects to the system version of my Wiis. Same deal. Errors out.

To go back, I'm not even sure why these Wii's stopped playing backup games or retail discs. I've considered the fact that the lasers may have burned out, but it's somewhat coincidental that both would go out at the same time.

Also worth noting, I set up both Wii's so they don't receive any updates via disc or net, so I would like to think that no updates did trickle through...then again you never know.

Ok yet another update. When I go to load MMM, it tries to load CIOS36-64-v3608 and says it cannot be found on the SD card. Reason being...it's not on the SD card. It goes 35, then 37, but no 36.

Since I'm no genius with this (still don't fully understand the Wads and CIOS - I need to educate myself on this), what would this mean, and how can I fix it? Could I load another IOS for it to use (since currently it says its trying to load IOS 36 v16)?

    Any ideas?

Thanks again for all your help everyone!
