    Wii Wont Read Games?

My Wii is 4 to 5 years old and has stopped reading games instead of replacing the laser thought I would just replace the whole drive. If I buy a new drive can I just connect it and play or do I need to swap the pcb's over from the old drive? Or does it need the key from the old drive put into the new drive any help would be great thanks

You can just replace it. Make sure your replacement drive can read backups.

Drives other than the D3-2 and D4 drives can read backups. Backups are a copy of your original, burned to a DVD-R.
If you only play original retail games then don't worry if it plays backups or not.
