To cIOS Rev21 or not to cIOS Rev21? That is the question.

Howdy fellas. It's been too long. I'll cut right to the chase...

I've hacked billions of Wiis from old 3.2U to the new 4.3U blue Walmart/Sams Wiis. I've never had any issues at all, ever. I've got a pretty good routine down modified from a few guides here. I pretty much do it by memory routine now.

In any case, I've always installed cIOS Rev 14, the latest USB Loader GX, and Hermes 5.1. I never moved to Rev 17 or 19 due to issues during their release and for the classic reason of "if it's not broke, don't fix it," mentality.

My question is this:

Is there any reason I should make the move from Rev 14 to the new cIOS Rev 21 D2X v7? Is there any reason I shoudln't and just keep sticking with the good old Rev 14? It's been my trusty steed thus far.

Yes. The majority of new games won't work with the old rev 14.

I haven't had any problems thus far. MW3 works, Zelda works, so on and so forth. Really it seems the older games that never worked like COD3 might work now. But who the heck wants to play that now when we have Black Ops?

I am considering the update. I just don't know if I'll have new problems that I don't have now. I still don't want to break what doesn't seem broken.

Yep, I see where you're coming from. Like the old adage "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".
But I don't think you'll have many problems, considering d2x cIOS with a base of [56],
has 95-99% compatibility with any game. But, still your choice mate. :)

I appreciate it. At least you've given me confidence to move forward with it. It's more of a curiosity thing at this point. Worst case I guess I can always go back to Rev 14. Ha! Thanks again.
