Accidentally updated and lost softmod

Hi. I got my 4.3U Wii softmodded to play games off an external HDD just fine and everything worked good. Then I bought a new game the other day. It asked to update the first time I started it (from the default system menu) and lost the ability to start USBLoaderGX. It says it need cIOSsomething to do something. I don't remember what It said. I have the Bathaxx savegame still on the Wii, but returned the game to GameStop. I would like to get the ability to play my games again off the HDD.

What can I do? I can't find the guide I used at first on the internet.

Follow the softmod any wii guide. Make sure to install priiloader this time and block updates. There is a link in the spoiler below.

Look in my sig and remod your console. Yes you can mod any wii, It will overwrite. Make sure you install priloader and set to block online and disc updates.

If you have homebrew channel still, then start from the spoiler that says softmods with homebrew installed. If you don't you can just use letterbomb.

If you have been upgraded to V4.3 ( check in wii settings top right hand side) You can use letterbomb exploit it's straightforward follow the guide. It will overwrite the old stuff.

Thank you, guys! I got it working again. I'll have to remember not to update it anymore....I enabled the "Block Updates" in PriiLoader. Thanks for all the info!

Another question you may be able to help with.....Is there any program that runs ON THE WII to manage what's on my HDD? I have WBFS Manager on my PC which is 6 inches away, but I get tired of unplugging it from the Wii to the PC everytime I need to delete something.

pfcperry18. A big ask. Depends when you say you are using WBFS manager, Should i assume you are formatted to WBFS running with an SD card or a partition of WBFS / FAT32.
If you are using Fat32 hdd and latest GXloader 2.3 you can install games from disc, uninstall games and manage your art work through the Wii.
You can do similar ops with CFG loader. (WBFS format is old style.) Most uptodate mods have HDD on FAT32 Then use wii game manager to split games You can then run more than one loader depending on your preferences. No need for SD cards Everything on one drive either opened with Loader channels/forwarders. or boot to loader direct with Priloader settings.
More than one way use your modded wii.
