    Try and post a real system check with the link in the spoiler below. But I'm guessing you laser is dirty or dead.

    If it's a new-new wii, say a black, red, or blue one then it wont read DVD-R anyway, and often by trying to get them playing DVD-R from disc channel with cIOScorp or Darkcorp early versions can result in originals ceasing to read... If you've changed anything then perhaps undo your softmodding and try again??? mayb???

    I remember having problems like this in my Wii-modding early days of cIOS249rev7 - rev 12 where certain cIOS revisions were either reading DVD-R discs and not originals or vice versa. Probably not the problem but maybe worth a brief mention hey.

    He already said it use to play DVD -r's and not it won't even play originals. And use the edit button to add info if no one has replied after your post.

    @OP
    I would like to see a system check, but I doubt that is the problem unless you've been messing with IOS/cIOS.

    Your system check looks fine.

    I would first try to clean the laser. If that doesn't work:
    1. Does the disc spin when you put it in? If not it could be the disc drive motor.
    2. If the disc spins and does not read? It could be you need to replace the laser.

    1. I don't actually know where the laser is ;o
    2. I don't hear any spinning sound at all..

    You could use something like this. Or try blowing compressed air into the disc slot.

    BUT,
    The best way to make sure it is clean with a cue tip and rubbing alcohol, but requires to take your wii apart with this guide here.
