All I can say is give it a shot. Its either going to work or its not. You will not hurt anything by trying.

Sent from my HTC Desire using WiiHacks

Yes you can use a friends remote, but i would suggest you find an older one somewhere to use just for homebrew. Also, there is no way to remove all traces of a mod but as long as u follow the instructions you will be fine.

Sent using the WiiHacks app. Please excuse the brevity, punctation, and spelling.

That code resembles a regular Wii remote (without the motion plus inside). That is known to work.

I have a wii motionplus remote that is compatible with homebrew. If i were to buy a new wii remote for a second player (to use for wii games off a hdd using usb loader) and it happens to be one that is not compatible am I right that this would not matter as long as it was set up as player two w - it is only getting into the games from usb loader/using homebrew that is the issue once in the game the remote should work?

The remote incompatibilities will occur only in the homebrew loader, not in the games the loader loads.

However if you sync the incompatible controller as player 1 on accident, you can just use your compatible controller as player 2 and select the game you want to play. Then your incompatible remote will work normally in-game as player 1.

Dolphin Emulator has been patched to make these changed remotes work, so I think it would be possible for homebrew to be patched.
FIX94 now has added the code into his wiiflow mod, so at least one usb loader has support
