    Some questions with backup loading.

    Hi Everyone:

Recently I followed a softmod guide and installed all the required stuff and I was able to run backups with USB Loader GX, everything went smoothly until a day later where I first got a freeze while a game is running, it has happened multiple times, though the freeze doesn't happen too often, but it's enough to be kind of annoying and concerning. So I just wanted to ask if this is because of the nature of the softmods and is something to be expected? Or can this be resolved in some way such as updating the cIOS and what not?

I am currently using Wanikoko's CIOS 38 rev 21 and the newest USB loader GX I could find, my firmware version is 4.3. I heard that the d2xv6 is a recommended CIOS, would it improve the stability?

On another note I had some general questions about softmodding. I got a grasp of the idea of IOS and CIOS slots while actually doing the mod, but I don't quite understand it fully. Say if I were to install d2xv6 CIOS, would I put it in CIOS slot 249 (my current CIOS 38 is installed in 249) and just overwrite my old CIOS? Does it matter where I put the CIOS? Also what's the significance of choosing the base IOS slot and the rev # while installing a CIOS? I put the current CIOS in slot 58 because it was the default choice.

Lastly, is it possible for being connected to the internet to have any sort of impact on how the softmods work? And the using of channels such as the weather and news channel that came with the wii. I am just kind of paranoid since these channels performed downloads.

Sorry for putting so many questions in one post, and thanks in advance for the help!

Post a system check, so we can see what you have installed-->http://www.wiihacks.com/other-faq-gu...tem-check.html
    Use syscheck 2.1.0 beta14.

    Hey thanks for the replay.

Unfortunately I won't have access to my wii for two weeks so I can't post the report anytime soon.

But could you guys answer the more general questions for me for now? Does instability/freeze happen to everybody? And about the installation, what significance does the base IOS slots have?
