Save Extractor Question and Error
Before I post I would like to say that I have read the tut on Animal Crossing City Folk but I still got a few questions.
my first question is: is it safe to hack your own save game file for private use and maybe online use also?
Now the Error Help.
When go into the hbc to get to the Save Extractor application I follow everything on the screen and when I hit the reset button on the Wii it reads the disk for a few seconds then I get an error which is "Error! (ret = : - 1).
The game itself is a iso on a DVD (Imation DVD-R 4.7 GB). Is there anyway I can get the save file onto my SD card so I can edit it?.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me.
Yes, but you do risk corrupting it
the game must be in there, and same with the Sd card, it should work no problem
im using a scrub and i got my gamesave easily
Even if its just to get more money?

your lucky to get it that easy. Can I burn another copy (scrub version) and still be able to use the saved game or do I have to start all over again?.
you cant edit money like that =P
you can only make it spawn, and such...
just do this
thanks for the quick reply.
I tried everything but when I go into the Gecko OS to Launch Game I get an error which say's I have no DVD even though the Disk is in the driver.
What could I be doing wrong or what am I missing?
Thanks once again.
I'm having the same problem I get the ret=1 error I don't think it recognizes the disc, I use memorex it plays fine btw but can't extract my save I've tryed more then once same error each time. Anyone know how to fix this
I gave up on the Save Extractor but I did get the cheats to work after all.
I used the backup channel gamma (I used it anyways to play backups) then while the game was loading I would press one (1) on the wii remote until I see the config. screen then I would click on the Configuration settings and made sure that Hook Type was VI but surprisingly on mine the default is GC Pad so I had to switch that and turn on Ocarina then after that I returned to menu and Launched the game.
Cheats worked very well when I used this method.
It's not my saved game so I wouldn't want to do anything unless I had a backup. But congrats on getting it working
Save Extractor only works if you're using the original or a modchip to play your backups.
