USB Loaders: Games fail to function after launching

My Wii is softmodded on 4.3U, cIOS 222 rev4. I have Homebrew Channel working perfectly well, and can easily launch custom wads (such as NES, SNES emulators) from the official home screen. I just can't launch them from an SD card. (I install my wads using MMM (Multi Mod Manager)). I have a channel for Wiiflow from where I launch it and select a game to play.

    My issue:
When I select a game to play, it launches perfectly fine, then at some point it fails. It varies from game to game. For example, in Donkey Kong Country Returns, I can pretty much do everything until I actually enter a stage. The first issue I notice is that the overworld (the map from where you select a stage to enter) has no music. Sound effects are there, though. Then when I select a stage, the screen gets slightly darker and the game freezes. Twilight Princess gives me a black screen after I press A + B on the title screen. Most games just fail to load after the wiimote strap warning screen.

    Troubleshoot attempts:
I thought the issue was WiiFlow (v2.1 r228, the loader I use), so I tried uLoader (v5), and got the EXACT SAME results (game loads, freezes at the same point) (EDIT: I just tried USB Loader GX, the latest one as of 18/09/2011, with the same results) I then thought the issue was my hard drive, so I tried using a different one (using the same USB enclosure), and I got the same issue. I then thought the issue is my cheap eBay enclosure, so I used an 8GB USB stick, and I get the EXACT same result, so I figured the issue must come from the Wii settings, or the Wii itself.

    More info:
It was working perfectly fine months ago. I stopped playing with my Wii for a little while because I simply had no time. I can't say my kid brother didn't play with it, but what I mean is, my wii's hack settings remained unchanged for months and before my "wii break" it was working fine, after my "wii break", nothing works... (all of the mentioned games above worked 100% fine before). It's almost as if it just suddenly stopped working for no reason, but that's impossible so I'm ASSUMING my kid brother might have tinkered with it (although it's VERY unlike him). I'm still on 4.3U, and all of my homebrew apps work fine. The games even load! (for the most part), but it's as if the system is not loading anything off the HDD\USB Stick after the initial intro.

Is there anything I can do to troubleshoot? What settings must be set to what in order to make sure the game loads correctly with a USB?

Judging from your version of Wiiflow it sounds like you might have a pretty old softmod. Post a syscheck. The guide for it is below in my sig.

Yeah lol, I do have an old softmod... everything was working fine so I didn't see the need to modify it.
I was just doing that (a syscheck) while you were replying. Here are the results:

I just tried setting up WiiFlow to load from a Fat32 USB drive instead, and updated WiiFlow to the latest version. Same Results....

From what I understand, cIOS 222 is used to load from a USB drive. If that's the case, maybe I should install a newer version of cIOS 222...

Follow the Softmod ANY Wii guide in my sig. It will get all your cIOS up to date. Also, 222 is not the only cIOS that can load from usb. The ANY Wii guide will give you many to choose from, the most compatible being 248.

I just installed hermes-v5.1 on IOS 224 (with base 37) as instructed in this guide (Removed failguide links)
I also installed d2x-v6 on IOS247 (base 57) and IOS248 (base 56) as instructed in this guide (Removed Failguide links) and used USB Loader GX to use the cIOS 248, while on WiiFlow, I used 224. I get the same results, except this time, Donkey Kong Country Returns also loses connection to the wii remotes when it freezes.

    Here is my syscheck:

OK I'll try that tomorrow. Thanks for your help mate.

Please stop linking to external FAILGUIDES, thank you! Oh, and stop and think why they might be viewed as such being you're having issues. It's not staff's responsibilities to fix your mess for following a non-wiihacks guide --- why don't you ask THOSE guys for support, right?

I don't know. I'm not a wiihacks loyalist or any other site's loyalist. I'm just here to get help to get my wii working, and since I used wiihacks initially to hack my wii, I'm coming here for help. I stumbled upon those with a simple google search tonight. I don't know about any Wii homebrew community wars, if there are any, so I'm sorry if my posting those links offended you.

Its not as much a turf war but more of a bad information war.

Maybe reading the forum rules would make you more aware.
And it's not because there's a war as you so kindly put it.
It's because we dont want any other members clicking on
those links and failing too, and having to clean up the mess.

Yes; you said you came here first "back in the day" (a paraphrasing, but since you've just registered this month it does sort of make one wonder). If you followed a guide here originally, it would've stood to reason you should've stuck with one site. The folks here are rather helpful, but they can only meet you halfway.

Belated edit: cIOS 249 for most loaders is the default cIOS. Even after your latest um, attempts --- it's still missing. Just thought I'd better give a mention of that. Some loaders (USB Loader GX) support multiple cIOS, others (NeoGamma for example) only support 249/250. Mentioned in that a cIOS doesn't simply "disappear" without effort --- perhaps your brother, as mentioned?
