Hey guys could it be the [58] base that is in 249? Maybe try using the d2x installer and install base 56 in 249 and 57 in 250.

EDIT: Also noticed no one suggested re-ripping your disc. Have you tried that yet?

Which version of the loaders are you using, 222 or 249?

I have the same issue with my Mario Kart. After I found out my game rips got corrupt, I re-ripped all of my games. All but Mario Kart Wii work (MKW doesnt go past the wiimote strap screen). I have yet to re-rip my Mortal Kombat Armageddon which wasn't working before either.

I realized that to fix the Super Smash Bros bug where it freezes at the stage select screen can be fixed by erasing the save file. Maybe the same solution can be applied to MKW? I'll try when I get back home from work.

EDIT: OK. Deleting the save files solve nothing. My SSBB freezes at the same stage selection screen with the official disc or with any USB Loader. Also, I was dumping my games onto my USB drive with WiiFlow (I got v2.2 r301) this whole time. I decided to give CFG USB Loader (v0.7) a try. I deleted the game and re-dumped it with CFG USB Loader and I got a bunch of read errors after about 50%. In other words, WiiFlow just dumps the game regardless of errors. I noticed that both my Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Mario Kart Wii discs have heavy, perfectly circular scratches (meaning, like the known Xbox 360 issue, my Wii caused them, because I've never inserted these discs in any other drive and I've never moved the console while games were running). All other games work fine and the discs are relatively clean. Try dumping Mario Kart Wii with CFG USB Loader and see if you also get an error. If you do, you have no choice, you have to either download a clean dump from the internet or rent/buy a new disc. I'll try downloading the ISO over the net and see if this is the only issue (the game runs perfectly fine when I play it with the official disc using the official Nintendo way).

(More info: When I played MKWii with the WiiFlow dump, WiiFlow gave me a black screen after the strap warning screen and CFG Loader gave me error 001)

I have come to the conclusion that if the games don't work with any loader after the Softmod ANY Wii guide, chances are the dumps are corrupt.

Mariokart works fine with CFG loader v65!

Hi, I faced the same problem as sw0o0sh. But downgrading my USB loader to v65 fixed it and mariokart runs just fine now. At the moment I have both v70 and v65 installed in my homebrew channel and just choose v65 whenever I need to play mariokart.

FYI: I wasn't even able to go to the safety screen. I just got a black screen with "error #001, unauthorized device has been detected." and wii just froze.

    HTH, Cheers.

Hi, I am currently having the same problem with MKWii getting to the strap screen then freezing. I am running the CFG loader v70 and 248, how can I install the v65 or cIOS222?
