Letterbomb has me over a barrel

I originally tried the Indiana Jones hack. I got the "archetecture" of the hack, but the USB loader doesn't do what it was supposed to do, so what's the point of keeping it?

Now I'm trying the Letterbomb trick to no avail. I suppose I misread the directions the first time, because, I thought that once I entered my MAC addy, an automated program would jump in and do everything. It doesn't. After reading several other user's posts, I discovered that I wasn't alone in assuming this, the directions just allude to it. Anyway, I've entered my MAC address, unzipped it onto a FAT32 formatted standard Sandisk SD card, I've opened my Mailbox on the Wii and searched in both directions, up to a year out in both directions and found nothing. Nothing.

Now, the directions state that "you'll know it when you see it". So, we newbs are searching fooooor, well, I guess we're looking for a red envelope with a monoboob cherry bomb poppin out of envelope cleavage? Right? Anyway...I'm stuck. Nothing there, I've probably overlooked something by not reading between the lines. What I need here is a highly advanced thirteen year old that speaks in binary, to educate this old man

Make sure the date on your wii is correct. Set the date and time correctly. Then the bomb cleavage will be on yesterday's messages. Make sure the sd card is in the wii.

^really good idea, thanks. I modified the time; and, the date was actually accurate. I had a thought that maybe I needed to open the unzipped folder and spread the contents out on the SD card to have that boot file more available, I dunno grasping at straws here I suppose, it didn't do any good though. Now, I keep going to the message board, and scanning a few days in advance, and back a few days. I'll also open the calendar, to look there. Will the cleavage envelope be seen on the daily view, or does it reveal itself on the calendar view?

Usually when a file is archived in a rar/zip you un zip/rar it. Unzip/rar it and put the contents on the sd card lol

^I guess I didn't word my previous post clearly enough...maybe...the file IS unzipped. But, when it unzips, its still showing up as an envelope, not a zipped file, but a batch of files contained within a folder. when I open the folder, the contents were about five Read Me's, a boot file, and another folder. In a last ditch effort, I'd thought that by openeing that folder, and having its contents "spread out" that it'd work that way; but, alas, it still does not work. I'm considering abandoning this direction, and attempting the SSBB hack instead. I gotta go to work. I'll wrestle the Wii from my son when I get home, and try again. Any other tips'd be great. Thanks.

That happened to me today when trying letterbomb. I tried all sorts of combinations of resetting and having certain files on the SD. My date and time were correct. It somehow worked after I decided to move the date forward by three days.

I don't think the bomb letter was on the correct date. I had to scroll back a few days on the calendar. The bomb letter was actually overlapping with another letter I had (the letter telling me how long I'd played a game). They were right on the middle of the screen. You might have to wait a few seconds for the bomb letter to switch to the front.

I did the letterbomb on a Wii a couple days ago. When I first put the files on the sd card (with the files spread out as you said) and put it in the wii, the bomb was not in the messages. Then I noticed the date was way off. To fix it I fomatted the Wii. This way it set it up so it was like new again. Then the bomb was on yesterday's message.

That makes me think that what wantang1 said sounds like it might be your problem. Because when I formatted mine it would have deleted any messages that would be in front of the bomb. I hope you get it without formatting, because that will delete all your save files. Good luck.

Thanks everybody, I just tried reformatting the SD card, and reloading Letterbomb onto it and it didn't work. The reformatting of the Wii will be next. The previous posts are quite good ideas, and inspirational really. I'll be trying them tomorrow. Thanks.

First I went back and just stared at each day to see if I had another message stacked on top of another one. Just to see if they'd flip around or something. I was thinking that one of them might be a good candidate, because the "pushpin" was alternating between yellow and orange; but, no other letter came forward, so I guess that this has another meaning.

I went ahead and reformatted my Wii, and reset the time again. I even went so far as reformatting the SD card to FAT32, and re-entering my MAC address, re-downloading the new file, unzipping it to the newly reformatted SD and, popp[ed it back into the Wii. Nothing. So, I hit reset on the Wii with the card still in it. Nothing. Took a break, went to bed. I'll mess with it more, when I get home from work.

New thought, perhaps its a Linux issue. I just reformatted the SD card, and reinstalled the unzipped Letterbomb on it...on a Windows machine. Here's to hoping
