    updating wii--- help

I bought a used wii that has been hacked/soft mod and I wanted to update it to the latest and greatest software to run current games since I have some games like smurfs, toy story 3, and black ops which will not load. I was wondering if I just need to update my ios to play games from my hard drive. Alot of the games that I have on my drive play without a problem (like new super mario, mario galaxy, zhu zhu pets, elmo, nick fitness, etc..)

Below is what I found on my wii. Let me know if I need any other information to provide

    Wii ver 4.2U
homebrew 1.0.6 (asking me to update to 1.0.8, is this ok to skip 1.0.7 or will it messup)
    usb loader gx v2.1 r1080
    Cios222 installer v4
    any title deleter
    any title deleter DB
    CIOS222 V4 Installer Hermes
    CIOS38 rev14 installer
    CIOSX rev 17 installer
    CMIOS Installer V0.3
    DOP IOS MOD V9
    DOP MIi V12
    Trucha Bug Restorer V1.11
    Wad manager V1.5
    Yet Another Wad manager V21

I have seen this tutorial for 4.2 and to update my wii. or see this one as well. update all your iso which do I use?? and from what step??

Will this get me all the updated CIOS that I need for updated games?

I Tried to update USB Loader to v2.2 from auto update however received an error and went back to 2.1 with a manual install. Is this due to my wii being with old CIOS?

I did the sys check and got the below
    Code:
    sysCheck v2.0.1 by Double_A
    ...runs on IOS36 (rev 3351).

    Region: NTSC-U
    System Menu 4.2U (v481)
    Hollywood v0x21
    Console ID: 126749397
    Boot2 v4
