USB Gecko - will it allow me to use cheat codes?

Like for games like Animal Crossing City Folk or other games without standard cheat codes? This is all I want it for now but I'm sure it would be quite handy, backing up stuff. As you can tell, I'm a total amateur but I do learn quickly.

I did look up the Homebrew Channel and some instructions on downloading it to my Wii, etc., but it's out of my league right now and I don't have the time or inclination to learn.

I need something user friendly. Is this the product for me?

a good way to do it, but requires homebrew, as for usb gecko, i think its used the same as this, but i personally dont think its supported anymore, since you can get the effects for free

    Thanks, admiral victorinox!

Why the heck is it so complicated??

I'm of average or above intelligence and I couldn't even figure out how to install Homebrew. I get the feeling if I could get that I would be fine. I get the 'private' folder onto my sd but then I'm supposed to rename a file for whatever homebrew I want to load? I get that I need a certain version of the Twilight hack, got that. But I don't even have a homebrew file to load yet. I just want to extract my AC:CF file so I can modify it. Plus, it would be fun to mess around in other games as well.

    That makes sense.

I have version 3.3. I've read the tutorial, I'll read it again. I've only been reading since this afternoon, need to read more. Thanks again! I'm glad I didn't just buy the Gecko.

    1.) A Wii
2.) An SD Card (No larger than 2GB)
3.) The Twilight Hack (On the downloads page)
4.) The Homebrew Channel Boot File (On the downloads page)
5.) A copy of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for Wii (You only need the game for about 2 minutes, so you can rent or borrow the game if you do not have it)

OK, there are 2 ways to hack AC:CF. Both involve using Homebrew.

We will need to download some files now. Before we put anything on the SD Card, let's save these files in your PC. So please make a new folder to put these files in. (Sorry, you are going to have to unzip all the files by yourself)
So let's learn how to install the Homebrew Channel on the Wii first.
1.)You need to install the Twilight Hack.
If you have Wii Version 3.3, download the Twilight Hack here, or:
    twilight-hack-v0.1-beta1.zip -- FileFactory.com - free file hosting --

If you have Wii Version 3.4, download the Twilight Hack here, or:
    twilight-hack-v0.1-beta2.zip -- FileFactory.com - free file hosting --

Now, place the file in the SD Card, after you unzip it.

2.) Now, let's download the Homebrew Channel, here, or:
    Homebrew_channel_beta9.zip -- FileFactory.com - free file hosting --
OK, now let's the file in the SD Card (after you unzip it).
This is what your SD Card should look like after you open.\
    (http://i44.tinypic.com/33bnynp.jpg)

So you have all the files, now eject your card and put it into your Wii.

3.) Go to Wii Options>Data Management>Wii>Save Data and delete any existing Twilight Princess data. (If you want to keep it, you can transfer the data to your computer and then erase it off of your Wii.)

4.) Click on the "SD Card" tab at the top of the page and transfer the save data (according to your region) to your Wii.
4.5 [for US users]) If you live in the USA, there is an extra step. There are two versions of Twilight Princess in the US, so you have to find out which one is yours. To do this, flip over your disk to the shiny side and look at the inner circle. It should read:

    a.)RVL-RZDE-0A-0
    b.)RVL-RZDE-0A-2
    It should look like this.

6.)Now run Twilight Princess and choose your save data. (US users, choose either TwilightHack0 or TwilightHack2 according to your disk.)

7.) Now that your in the game, talk to the guy with the big nose in front of you. (or walk backwards, but talking to people with big noses is more fun.)

8.) Now a bunch of letters, numbers, and words will pop up It will ask you to accept the agreement by pushing the RESET button on your Wii. When you are done, your Wii will restart and the Homebrew Channel will be on your Wii!

The Twilight Hack only needs to be done once. The old method was everytime you wanted to load a .wad/channel onto your Wii, you had to run the Twilight Hack. Now there is an application that can run through the Homebrew Channel to do it.

OK, now that you have Homebrew, let's hack some items.
