    Unhacking Wii

I bought a second-hand Wii on the internet and it had the homebrew channel and neogamma channel installed and also had three burned games with it. I want to delete all of this and unhack my Wii, so it is totally clean and I won't get in any trouble with updates etc.

What do I need to do for this?

So you don't want a modded wii at all?

Updates can be stopped by installing priiloader and blocking them on a modded wii.

How ever if you want to peform the risky task of removing the soft mod completely follow this guide ---> http://www.wiihacks.com/other-faq-gu...d-any-wii.html

Ok I don't want to take the risk of ruining my Wii (making it a brick), but just be sure that I can connect my Wii to the internet without getting in trouble and install all the updates as well. How can I do that?

If you have an internet connection on your wii then you can take an update from Nintendo that way. You have to go into your settings and set it up to connect to your wi-fi then there will be an update button in the settings as well. If for some reason the update fails then it means that the original owner was smart enough to set up priiloader to block updates. That can be easily fixed by accessing priiloader and disabling the "block online updates" option. To access priiloader (assuming it is on that wii) you need to hold in the reset button while you power on the wii. Keep it pressed until the priiloader screen appears. If it does not appear then you do not have priiloader.

You could always learn about modding and have much more fun with your wii by not killing the softmod though!

What System menu is it on at the moment.
Bear in mind that 4.2 and 4.3 system menus were designed purely to kill HB.

If you are looking to play backups from usb etc then the only thing you have to do is rely on the cios.
Following mauifrogs mod any wii guide and installing all the ios update pack will give you all the latest ios that came with 4.3 SM.....

I'm just finding it hard to grasp why you want to update to the latest SM.....
Priiloader is what you need to stop updates as stated above.
With a soft mod you can updates all things needed to keep your games running manually which to be hosest you dont have to do that often....

I modded my wii a while ago and it's been great, but my brother wants it for his wife but wants me to unhack it, wouldn't just updating from nintendo brick it?
