Backup issues

I have softmodded my Wii and have had a 250gb my passport connected with all my backup games with no problems playing the games.

I decided to buy myself a new drive for the backups and bought a Samsung 500 gb drive, this is where the problems start. I used WBFS Manager 3.0 to copy the backups from the 250 to the 500 most work ok but Mario at the Olympics as a few problems. Most of the games in Mario and Sonic at the Winter Olympics work ok but some ( Curling, Bobsled) have corupted screens

I have deleted the backup and reinstalled the game but same problem,it works ok from the game disc.

Any ideas?

Should have mentioned the drive is a USB 3.0 would this make a difference?

Yes! Updating your loader to latest revision, as well as updating your cIOS should clear this up!

Have you tried selecting a different cios to play the game with?

Yes I have tried other cIOS with no luck.
The original HD (my passport 250gb) still works with all games. I have bought a new 500 gb USB 2.0 drive and will set that up later tonight and see if all ok.

All is well. Formatted the new USB 2.0 500Gb drive copied all of my backups to it and all is good. Obviously the Wii couldnt handle the extra speed of the USB 3.0 (?).

Might have been a formating issue all along. Glad you got it going!

Maybe but I formatted the drive exactly the same as the drive connected to the Wii right now and the same as the original drive.
Formatted under windows to remove any data and then used WBFS Manager 3.0 to format again. Only difference is usb3 usb2.

Anyhoo the main thing is it is working. Now to do the softmod on my $15 Wii.
