    Backup loader .3g DVD-ROM Clicking

Ok so i was on 3.3U and i have HBC 1.0.1 installed with a bunch of stuff. So yesterday I came across the .3g backup loader, got it to work, ive tried Wii Music, House of the Dead Return, and Excite Truck. They all boot pretty slow and the DVD drive constantly CLICKS. Its pretty loud. I have verbatim DVD-Rs and ive tried disks at 4x and disks at 20x they both work the same.

So tonight I downgraded to 3.2U hoping that maybe that was an issue, but its still clicking and booting slow, the only game that is even playable is Excite Truck.

    Any Ideas?

it's part of the Gamma Loader pains. Some games work great, some don't.

is the clicking normal tho? I guess my biggest question is what is the best DVDr to use? I have a Pioneer DVR-215D burner

I wish I could hear the clicking. There should be a few ticks when the disc loads, but not the entire game play time.

Try using these burning instructions ...

also, the clicks are loud POPs it sounds like my old PS2 laser when it was about to die. Wii Originals do not make this sound, all of the backups do.... ive burned the same ISO on 3 different burners all at the slowest speed possible and still no dice. Time to try something other than Verbatim?

So last night i used DVD Dumper 1.2? and transferred a backup of Wii Play over WiFi. I wanted to test it with something that is known to work well with the loader. It worked but it still made the loud popping sounds. Should I try other disks? Would it matter if my Wii is one of the first ones released? I got it at midnight on Nov 19th, 2007? whenever the release was....

Ok, so im going to post again and ask if anyone has had a bad drive that has trouble reading DVD-/+Rs. I took the backups i have been having problems with, and i tried booting them on my cousin's Wii which i setup exactly like mine, and they all booted perfectly! no clicking and no lag.

So im guessing my drive is crap.

    Anyone else have this problem?

My wii won't play any backups whatsoever through gamma backup loader.
get loads of winding up of the drive, then click, and it repeats, get the occasional flash on the tv which seems to say loading game.

My Wii is one of the newer ones, bought just before christmas.

Loading normal pressed Wii games in the drive through the backup loader works fine.

so far i've tried Verb -r's at 2x, 4x and also 8x, Datawrite Titanium +r's at 2x, and also no name -r's "CMC MAG. AE1" at slow and faster speeds but still nothing.

    Burner is a Benq DW1670
