    Hi,

I'm new to the wii hack scene and seem to be having the exact same problem.
My Drive repeatedly winds up and clicks, when I eject the disc it asks me to re insert the game disc and then goes back to winding and clicking.
I have installed cIOS249 and use gamma 0.3g loader with no luck.
    I have downgraded from 3.3E to 3.2E.
I have tried Verbatim dvd-r, Imation dvd-r and a cheap branded dvd-r as well.
Hopefully someone can help sort out this problem?

ok so i downgraded and put the loader on my friends Wii, and all the discs that didnt work in mine worked.

So today i went to best buy, and decided to try Sony DVD-Rs. Got home burned the image that i made from DVDDumper and everything worked really well....i guess my drive doesnt like verbatim or Maxell....

I havent played much of a backup, just got the game to load and ran around a bit in super paper mario, and house of the dead 3. Hopefully my issue is fixed with these discs.

I just finished trying to uninstall all the crap that I installed when I first tried to get my softmod running and then I re-installed cIOS249 and ran back-up launcher, my drive no longer makes the loud clicking sound that it was making but it still won't load my backups.

It looks like I might have to try a few more different branded discs and see what happens!!

also just to point out, that just because imgburn says 1x or 2x doesnt mean its burning at that speed....when i set my burner to 1x, it still burns at 4x, which im guessing is the slowest speed my burner will support.

So it uses the slowest speed it can.

My Wiikey modded drive clicks also, only on certain games that frequently access the drive like MySim's and Call of Duty. I have tried Verbatim DVD-R burned at 4x & 8x and Sony DVD-R burned at 4x with Nero and ImageBurn. The clicking happens with all of them.

It sounds like the laser read head is unable to track or and keeps recalibrating. I will try with a different DVD burner next to see if that changes anything.
