Exclamation Can anybody help this UTTERLY confused user?

    Hi,

I'm hoping some of you more experienced Wii hackers can help me here. I had a 4.1e Wii that I softmodded and it was working perfectly with NeoGamma R9 for loading my backups right up until my girlfriend decided to invest in Zumba (she's a fitness nut) and rather than waiting for me to backup the disk and sanitize it (brickblocker) she decided that she couldn't wait to play it and installed the dreaded 4.3e update onto our Wii from the disc (don't worry, she has been duly chastised for this rookie mistake).

Since then, and despite hours of research and various attempts to reinstall both Neo R7 and Neo R9 I find that I am unable to boot my backups. NeoGamma R7 black screens on me the moment I click on start, and R9 appears to load but then throws up DVD Err(1178), Disc ID when I select the launch game on DVD option.

A great deal of research taught me that particular error code pertains to the drive type being incompatible with DVD-R discs (d3-2), this however cannot be the case as I haven't replaced my drive and my backups were working fine before the update.

I have used sysCheckGX to create a system log and I wonder if anyone can tell me what I now need to do in order to be able to use NeoGamma and load from my backups again.

    Spoiler

Many thanks in advance for your pearls of wisdom!

Dont use syscheckgx it displays false info. Use syscheck 2.1.0 b7

Strange your cios 249 is not stubbed.

Richardsito sent this from his iTouch

    Thumbs up

    Dude,

    YOU THE MAN!

System menu 4.1e is back on my Wii, all is hunky dory with the backups again (I must get a USB drive going) and some of my backups apparently now load through the disc channel, neat!

One small question tho and then feel free to close the thread, I notice from data management that I have a Wii channel called '???' that is 35 blocks in size, since I don't know what it is I haven't removed it.. is it safe to do so??

Once again, thanks for your help. It really made my night!

Hmmm... it refuses to let me move it to SD so I think the safest thing to do is leave it well alone.
