region changing a French wii

ok so i got a French wii given to me on 4.3e, as European and as it plays English disc's should be a pal,
but the system menu is in French and is a real pain for my son to navigate,

i'm also wanting to fully mod it using sofmod any wii guide, good with moding done loads for my friends, but this will be the first time i use region changer, or can i just install a english menu??? or wii i brick?? dont have hbc installed so cant see what bootmii it can take yet!! hoping older model and boot2 available.

any help would be great, cant find a tut for region changer on forum, hoping i dont need to use it.

you can change the language settings in wii settings....
