Smile Help: Just softmodded need a bit of help:(iso, ciso, forwarders:channels, USB HDD SD)

    Hello,

I have just softmodded my wii using Mauifrogs guide softmod any wii (http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...d-any-wii.html)

I completed the whole guide apart from the last Brick Prevention part (to do with: Indiana_PWNS-PAL bit) It wouldnt work (Probably my fault!) im not to concerned about this anyhow...

I now have the wii in the softmodded state, Homebrew & Configurable USB Loader etc.. and have already copied another USB HDD using wii Backup manager and have all my games there, ready and waiting!!

I believe i was on system menu version 4.2E but now on 4.1E

I now want to be able to use:

    - Wiiflow (Instead of Configurable USB Loader) - Channel

    - Mplayer/WiiMC - Channel (I tried and failed) (Which is best? i have previously used Mplayer)

    - Wad Manager (v1.7 works best at the mo) should i be using a newer version? (OR MMM)

If i can get those i'd be very happy!

I also have in homebrew a savegame Manager v1.0.... how do i use that?

So when preparing my HDD (1TB WD) I have made 2 partitions: 1) 880GB - WBFS & 2) ~50GB - FAT32, which i believe i can use as storage for: Wad's, Pics , Films , TV etc... (Can i use the USB HDD FAT32 Partition as a "SD card"?) am i missing the trick?

when i was able to get WiiMC partly working and clicked USB HDD it came up with file names i couldnt relate to, even tho i put test files in a folder called "Films" I couldnt locate them....how do i manage these?

I am doing this wii up for a friend of mine, so i want to be extra careful not to brick it hence why i have pretty much come straight to you(s) asking for help!!! It has been ages since i did my wii softmod and have forgotten alot of the lingo etc...!!

Your help will be greatly appreciated!!!!

so if anyone can tell me how and where i get the nessacery files I will be chuffed... & I'm sorry if there is already something there to help me : i havent found it yet....

More Questions to follow im sure!!

    Thanks in advance...

If u look at the bottom of the guide that u followed there are links for everything u mention apart from save game manager, which is basically an app to extract your save games from the wii. wad manager 1.7 is still good.

Thank you, I tried the downloads again and this time i think i have followed them correctly!!

I have Wii Flow up and running - (but with out artwork but i think i have a copy on my other sd card i can use!)

I have WiiMC Installed and as a channel But it hasnt like two DVD's ive put in it? Also I dont seem to be able to see file names of my USB HDD correctly still? would that have something to do with ios 202? (usb hdd is formatted to fat32)

I Guess i'll stick with Wad Manager v1.7, altho i havent tried installing a game wad yet so fingers crossed!!
If i can get those i'd be very happy!

Does the save game manager save space (Blocks) on the wii console and allows them to be stored on HDD?

    Thanks in advance again!

That or if you have an internet connection you can download the covers via your loader.

How old is your Wii? Your drive might not be able to play DVDs if your Wii was made past mid-late 2009.

You don't have much choice as 1.7 is the most recent. Unless you want to use MMM or that mod of 1.7 that removes the music. You might want to re-read our rules when it comes to game WADs and not mention the subject again. That is definitely piracy and you won't get any help with that here. You'll only find yourself in trouble.

Yes but you'll have to transfer them back to your Wii first in order to use them.

The console has model number RVL-001(EUR), produced for the European market.•There is a 75% chance the chipset is GC2-D4 on a smaller drive board.
•And there is also a 25% chance the chipset is GC2-D3-2 (v2) with no drive chip.

I dont know how old it is, as it is not my machine. (Its a black wii if that helps?) Is it worth me trying MplayerCE?

WiiMC shows Data CD when i have a dvd in the drive! just wont play it...?

Apologies for bringing up that subject i wont mention again...ever...!

also, when in wad manager 1.7 and i go to USB HDD the filenames are all jibberish, not like they are on "my" Wii (Correction: Only WiiFlow filename is intact?)

Your drive can't play DVDs no matter how hard you try. I don't get where you are going with the WAD manager names. Your WADs all go in a folder and will have a bunch of different names.

Ok, Im Not too worried about the capability of my wii as a dvd player...would have been nice but oh well.... worse things happen at sea!

Can i use WiiMC for everything else? i just cant use dvds?

I will try and explain better:

On my PC my FAT32 partition is named clearly into folders (Like apps, TV ,Film,Music) however when i plug my HDD in to the Wii the text of the file name has gone crazy...
and makes no sense such as: )É -VÕ<,A

when i start up WiiMC it shows:

    -SD Card
    -USB - ă É - Údh9
    -Data DVD

    hope that makes sense?!

I would format the card and start over. That's not normal or common what so ever and I don't know of a fix.
