WiiMC and Homebrew Channel Issues , I know I am a noob!

Bought a used Wii. I want to have WiiMC's newest version. But as I read from the support page I am supposed to update my HBC an all. I can not figure out how though.

My Homebrew Channel is 1.0.6 with IOS 61

    Wii System 4.2E

I also wanna know if I migt lose neogamma and might have to reinstall it again when I update my HBC? I do not wanna lose it while trying to install WiiMC.

SO, is there a guide that I could follow. I spent hours and found lots of guides but I do not know if I can use them with my Wii.

My primary concern is not to lose neogamma while trying to update my HBC.

Don't worry about NeoGamma. It's not going anywhere updating your HBC. Do you have a WiFi connection?

So that means the IOS58 installer and online HBC update are out. You will need to update/add IOS58 first and then use the HackMii installer to update your HBC. You could use NUSD to download IOS58 as a WAD on your PC and use WAD Manger or MMM to install it. We have a guide on here about updating you IOS that you could use the WAD from too.

    Last question;

How do I update my HBC?

I already have HBC. Am I supposed to uninstall my HBC to install/update this one?

I found these steps on its wiki page, would they work?

    Using a loader

    1. Download the HackMii Installer.
    2. Extract the HackMii Installer to find the boot.dol- I cant find a file as boot.dol in the zip.
    3. Place the boot.dol file in the root (SD:/ ) of your SD card.
    4. Boot the loader that will work for your System Menu. What does this exactly mean?
    5. Wait for the Hackmii Installer to run tests on your Wii
    6. Press when told to continue installing HBC and BootMii.

I also found this Read Me HBC file in the zip of hackmii_installer_v0.8.

If you cannot or do not want to
connect your Wii to the Internet, simply run the boot.elf file using any
homebrew booting method. For example, you can upload it using wiiload or
you can make a directory inside /apps (for example, /apps/Update) and copy
    boot.elf there
. Then, simply run it from the previous version of The Homebrew
    Channel.

Will this be enough to update my HBC without doing the steps above?

All you have to do is extract the HackMii installer and put it in your apps folder. After that go into the HBC and launch the HackMii installer from there. Then you can install the updated HBC and it will overwrite your old one.
