Retail GC games don't work on Wii.

I don't know when it started but I decided to play one of my retail gamecube games on my wii and they don't work. I get a black screen that says to eject disk shut of console and look and gamecube manuals. Before I posted I did a lot of searches and couldn't find one that was directly to this. One said to disable free region off wii preloader but that didn't work, others say to install gc back up manager but that doesn't help because I want to play retail games, like it use to off the disk channel. The only way to get the GC game to work is by using neagamma , even when i load it from neogamma a error saying can't find file 265 or 263 appears but then game loads.. Any way to get the Wii to read gamecube games like it did before off disk channel? I even downgraded IOS15, nothing seems to work.

I also noticed that I can't install wad files or anything. I keep getting error ret -1 or error ret -1017. Pimp my wii can't update anything and i can't install an original Ios34.

You shouldnt have used "Brick my wii"..... Some vouche that it works great while others end up with paper weights.. then you have the inbetween who cant get anything to work.. You have outdated IOS and cIOS and some other issues that can be fixed by following the guide linked in my signature... dont skip steps and dont use Brick my wii...

What a mess of a syscheck! I'm betting it has to do with the messed up DarkCrap install too...Particularly the DarkCraped MIOS. NeoGamma likes WiiGator/WiiPower's cMIOS so that's probably why you are getting errors with it too.

Probably less work and it's supposed to be noob friendly. If you are afraid to screw your IOS up yourself why not let a program do it for you? LOL

I followed your remove darkcorp and update IOS guide. My gamecube games load off disc channel now but a back up software automatically launches. So when I put the gamecube game it shows on the disc channel but when i launch it an error comes out then a gamecube backup launcher automatically loads and runs the game.
