Corrupt SD Card - How best to start again ?

I softmoded my Wii a few months ago using the Indiana pwns mod.

It now won't boot properly though.

When I put the SD card in a PC it just shows up a bunch of chinese/japanese characters - the files all seem to be corrupt :-(

Do I need to go through the whole softmod process again (I hope not since I sold my original Lego Indy disk!) ?

Or is there a shortcut ? I would guess that my Wii is still "modded" it just doesn't know how to boot. Ideally I guess I just need a copy of whatever files need to be on the SD card AFTER modding ?

I'm hoping all the data stored on my WBFS hdd is going to still be ok with a freshly formatted SD card ?

Any pointers gladly received !! Thanks,

    Fik

Your wii should boot up without an sd card in. The info on the card is easily replaced by re-downloading all of it. Your hdd should be fine as well. Your real problem is the fact that the wii does not boot up. What exactly does it do when you power it up?

Thanks guys - as soon as I can get access to the TV I'll fire it up and post the exact messages that come up on screen......

It was a while ago when I applied the softmod but I /think/ I followed the "SoftMod any Wii" instructions.

OK - So the Wii DOES boot with the SD card removed.

With the SD Card inserted I get the following :-
    eBoot2 DOL loader v16
    IOS Version 36 v16 0x00240010
    IOS Succesfully Loaded
    sdio_Startip() rv = 1
    DIRECTORY LIST
    ---------------------

Afer the list I get two lines of hex and then

    Read 467808 Bytes
    Restarting DOL.
DOL out of loadable range 0x162022122 0xe3fbff0c
    DOL text not loadable
    PANIC!!!

I've now formatted the card and extracted the contents from "App Pack" to it and I seem to be working again.

Still a bunch of learning I need to do to get my head around all this :-(

I think when I broke it last time around I was trying to achieve two goals :-

    (1) Get the machine to boot to the standard Wii Menu rather that a DOS looking screen offering a choice of apps to run
    (2) Get the right files loaded to enable microphone enabled games to work (they would all say "connect logitech microphone" even when I had attached the mics).

I guess I need a dummies guide or something - I must be getting too old.

Life was so much easier in the good old days of Slayers all in one boot disk for X-Box :-)

You need to start up priiloader and set it to autoboot system menu. Right now it is looking for a file that is not there or is corrupt to autoboot. We have a guide for the music games as well as some other problematic games that should help you out on the mic issue. http://www.wiihacks.com/other-faq-gu...solutions.html
There is also a list of guides by author linked in my signature....there are a lot of great guides in there. Browse through it sometime.
