Conduit 2, patching process, and softmod wii

Want to pick up conduit 2 tomorrow, but I am a little worried about playing it vanilla in my wii. Firstly, will it push an update and brick my 4.2 softmod wii? I suspect this risk whenever I purchase a game and usually brickblock and remove update folder for good measure and play through a loader. As far as the patching process is concerned, is this ios related? Will updating Conduit 2 possibly brick my wii? I can restore my wii to default, but i'd rather not as I like to use it as a media server. Anyone who owns conduit 2 and has performed the update and can explain exactly what was modified I would greatly appreciate.

I don't use priiloader, as I already block updates and such in the manner described above. Conduit 2 has a content patching process to remove glitches that show up after release (ie the ones that plagued The Conduit and ruined the online). I imagine these updates are required for online play. I want to know how these work before I purchase the game. I doubt Nintendo would allow a third-party access to IOS, but I would like to know if there is any possibility of these updates bricking a softmod wii.

EDIT: Priiloader only defends against things like system update which already has sufficient work-arounds and not really something I'd like to modify my system nand with. I'm confident that if my wii bricked, it would be a partial brick and I could still access bootmii and flash my original nand. When I originally soft-modded my wii, priiloader was recommended against because it alters actual system files. Also, I'm not talking about system updates via traditional Nintendo updates, but rather Conduit 2's update process for online.

I'm pretty sure it patches itself like any other Wii game...Through a save file.

Cool Conduit 2 update on softmod wii

I got The Conduit 2 for my softmod wii. I use usb loadergx and I used the in game update to play online. It worked fine. I was wondering if it would brick my wii, but everything is working fine. I have an older wii with a broken optical drive so I have to use the usb loader. It works great, and I just found out how to sprint in the game so its way more fun now. so no worries about updating with the in game update not the nintendo disk update.

Did you read the post right above yours by el Andy? Game updates are not disc updates or online updates and don't brick your Wii. They just patch a save file.
