    USB Loader and CIOs

Hey guys. Just got homebrew on my Wii.

Interested in playing some ISOs off my 30 gig NTFS USB drive. Got some games, added them to the drive properly with WBFS 3.0, and then got USB Loader GX.

After attempting to boot the loader from the Homebrew channel however, it just takes me to a black screen, though my Wii and all of it's atachments are still active.

I've tried this several times with no luck. Did I skip a step?

I read something about getting something called CIOs 222/223/249, but I honestly have no idea where the hell I get said program.

I have version 4.3U. What am I doing wrong, or where do I get this CIOs program?

What you need to wrangle up is not a cios program, you need to fully softmod your wii instead of doing what Wiibrew tells you to. Follow the softmod any wii guide in my signature, or you will have a lower chance of ever playing your backups.

Honestly I've seen multiple guides and they tend to make things seem a lot more complex and confusing then they actually are...I never know where to start.
If you want to point me in the right direction from where I am now then I would appreciate a proper guide. I also forgot to mention my Wii is version 4.3U.

Edit: Also I thought installing Homebrew was considered soft modding it.
