    problems playing dvd movies

    ok first off sorry im sure theres already a similar post as my q some where on here but cant find it....i downgraded my 4.3 to 4.1.im still in the process of getting emulators and other stuff added but for now ive got wiimc installed and i installed dvdx as well but it still wont read the disk.im trying out a pourchased dvd movie and burnt ones......i was wondering im having the same problem w neogama 1167 error. but read to install rev 17 and that would maybe fix that.would it fix the dvd movies too?

    If your wii is post 2008 it will not play dvd-r's, how old is your wii? Also u should post an introduction, for lots of helpful information and to introduce yourself to everyone

    If memory serves, D3-2 drives didn't turn up until midpoint 2009 --- but it doesn't make your point any less valid

    Id go with the newer drive chipset theory as well. If you are getting it in neogamma as well...... You can always rip your movies and convert to avi files. Bit of a mission but I play all movies from a fat32 hdd through either wii, blu ray player or xbox. Lots of options lol.

    I believe it was around december 2008, that was a typo should have been2009

    so theres no hope for me to play dvds is what ur sayin?even though i downgraded to 4.1 from 4.3?

    Being able to play DVDs has nothing to do with the system menu!
    It's the dvd drive in the newer wii's that is unable to read anything
    other than original wii and gamecube disc's.
