    SMB Stopped Working

    What's up everybody.

I have a hacked wii 4.2U and several months ago I did some IOS changes in order to be able to play black ops. Since then I was not able to use my SMB using Mplayer CE or WiiMC. A couple of questions:
How can I get the SMB working again?
Is there any reason why people should upgrade to system 4.3?

I do not think changing your IOS has anything to do with the problem. Are you sure the SMB is still working? Also check you have HBC 1.0.8 running with IOS58.

About the 4.3 update: there is no reason at all people should upgrade to 4.3. We even discourage it. It has no new features and only makes things harder.
Awesome sig picture does not work

If the computer with the SMB share does not have a static IP set then that could be a reason for it to stop working. If you don't have it set that way and need to know how try this. Also make sure you still have the SMB shares working on your computer. Unplugging an external hard drive then plugging it back in can wipe out the SMB so you have to set it up again (If you didn't know). Try accessing them from another computer if you are not sure.

As said above don't upgrade to 4.3 you won't gain anything.

I had updated to IOS58 and HBC 1.0.8 but I had the same problem. I found that it was my advanced sharing settings in Windows 7. I had password protected sharing to yes. Thank you for your response.
