Restoring NAND Backup
First of all, great site. I've learned a lot the past few days reading the tutorials. Thanks for the great info.
OK. I bought a Red Wii a couple of months ago and just a couple of days ago decided to install the Homebrew Channel & Bootmii. I used the SmashStack to install them. Immediately after installing them, I used Bootmii to do a nand backup. Before then, the Wii was unmodified.
Now, I know that it is a little risky to do a nand restore with Bootmii installed as IOS. When you attempt to restore the nand with bootmii, it gives a warning and you have to enter a code with a GameCube controller.
In my searches though, I've seen it mentioned that you don't need a GameCube controller to restore a nand, but can't seem to find out how to do it.

So, what do I use to restore the nand without a GC controller?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I dont think you can, not when restoring with bootmii as an IOS. I would REALLY not recommend you try to restore the nand anyway.
The thing is, WHY do you want to restore it? you see, if you have it installed as IOS, and you can still acess bootmii, then you do not need to restore it, as there are better ways to fix things (as you still have access to priiloader or hbc!)
Yes, I know there are risks and no I don't want to restore it right now. I was just asking for future reference. Like if I ever need to send in to Nintendo, so I would need to completely revirginize the Wii. I could use NUS NANDBuilder to make a new nand.bin and restore it to the Wii. I know I could get a GC Controller and enter the code. I was just curious about how some say you don't need a GC Controller.
Thank you for the reply!
