game requires updates after doing homebrew

I installed the homebrew channel last night (return of the jodi as I have 4.3U), this morning I wanted to play a new to me game, North American Hunting Extravaganza 2. I put the game in and it says there is a disc update required to play the game. When I looked further into the disc update it gave me the impression that it would remove my homebrew modifications and restore the Wii to factory settings.

What typically is done when games require updates like this? I searched by didn't have any luck.

    thanks

    Introduce Yourself
If you had started there and followed directions you would not be asking this question. Make a post in that forum then look at the softmod any wii link in my signature. If you followed the entire guide you would have priiloader installed which would prevent any accidental updates.

thanks, i did install bootmii and told it to disable disc updates, but cannot seem to get into bootmii now

hopefully there are no conflicts with bootmii and preloader?...

    i'll do the introduction next.

I assume you mean Priiloader, not Preloader. They are different. I don't know what guide you followed, but you should have disabled Disc AND Online updates.

You probably can't use Bootmii because you are missing the bootmii folder or have the wrong video setting. Extract bootmii.zip to your SD card and rename the appropriate bootmii.ini file using the included instructions.
