Using base 56 that works for almost all games[except few that need 57] seems like a better choice to me for 249....most loader come with 249boot.dol

you are saying install rev17 in 249(most used slot) even though you wont use it....better would be to put rev17 in a another slot...

and mighty channels works great with rev21 D2X

I don't use 249 for USB loading, since 223 works with everything I own except COD:BO (which uses 224). I use 249 for apps. It has ES Identify which is helpful. I would say put it in 250, since (like you said) 249 is the most common slot, but some apps don't give you the option to pick the slot. They only use 249. I have no reason to change it, since I can put rev21 with any base in 245,246,247,248, and 250 for USB loading (if I ever used anything but 222-224). On the rare occasion that I use disc loading, rev17 works best for me. If I were to ever load a backup with NeoGamma that didn't work with rev17, I could use NeoGamma IOS Switcher.zip to switch to rev21. Where I to put rev21 in 249, that would mean I had two copies of rev21 with the same base, which is pointless.

Switch to 21 if that's what seems best to you, but since I see no point in having two copies of a cIOS of the same version and base, or losing compatibility with older apps, I'm keeping 249rev17.

To me that is un-necessary work around....and un-necessary cios...the less on the wii the better...[installing 5 cios instead of 2]

Please list me the app that needs it in 249 or 250......and rev17

There is none...as everything has been updated...what hasnt been is no longer used...

    36/236 have es identify patch

Alrighty then since it seems I have what I need then does anyone have anything that could help me. If corrupted will formatting with FAT32 and reloading the same files in a different format solve my problem?

I have read somewhere in this forum (cant remember where) about a problem users encountered when upgrading USB Loader GX. Upgrading it with the usb drive plugged in caused drive corruption. So yes you should probably just format and start over. Yeah I know that sucks, but it will get you back up and running. FAT32 has a lot more advantages to WBFS format anyways, one big one being able to not have to use a 3rd party computer program to read it.

Also to save you some time you can use wbfs manager to extract the isos of the games that you know work prior to formatting. I just recently converted to fat32 myself. It took what seemed like forever but it was well worth it.

That would explain it if true. I can't find anything else wrong so I guess I just bite the bullet. I also assume that if a game is corrupted that there is no fixing it going to a different format yes?

You are correct about no fixing it in the format it is in. There are some recovery options in fat32, but it would need to be in that format originally. Once finished you wont regret going to fat32 though. Yo can defrag it, run homebrew from it, run mighty channels, all kinds of cool stuff. The most painfull thing is the wait on converting everything especially if you have a lot of games.

Lol, please stop trying to make this an argument. I have told you several times that I personally like to have rev17 in 249 and rev20+ with all bases in slots 245,246,247,248, and 250. For the sake of ending this, let's say that my choice to have rev17 in 249 is completely without logic. Does that have a negative affect on anyone? I can still use any version of rev21 for USB loading, and you won't be using my console.

This whole thing is like you trying to convince me my favorite color should be red instead of blue.

Why are you hijacking this guy's thread? Could you continue this in PMs please? Or maybe post here. LOL
