    Updating to Ciosx Rev 21

I have been out of the hacking scene for a while and I am confused as what to do. I have an LU64 wii on SM 4.0U. I originally used Hackmii 3.0 to hack it, and had it set up to load discs through Neogamma. I figured out how to use Wiiflow and load everything from an external drive so I don't do anything from discs anymore. I recently got every wiiware game through the end of 2010 so I want to use Triiforce and that's why I need to udate my cios. I am currently on rev 19. In Neogamma it says I am on IOS 249 and I believe I have always used CIOS 38 in the past. I read this guide
    http://www.wiihacks.com/other-faq-gu...ion-guide.html
and I'm still confused. This is the recommendation the guide gives and the example it uses

Option 1 - Triiforce & Mighty Channels Users
    IOS249 - Base IOS38
    IOS250 - Base IOS57

    1. Start HBC - Load cIOSx rev 21 Installer
    2. Select IOS 36 or IOS236 as the IOS to use during installation (Or IOS249 if you have it).
    3. Read the Disclaimer - Press A If you agree
    4. "Select Base IOS Version" < IOS56 > - Press A
    5. "Select Custom IOS Installation Slot" Choose < IOS249 > - Press A
    6. "Select Custom IOS Installation Mode" Choose Wad Install or Network Install - Press A
    7. If you selected Wad Install - "Select Source Device" Choose Wii SD Slot - Press A - Wait
    8. Installing please wait.....SUCCESS - Press Any Button to Continue - Press B to EXIT

I'm guessing for step 4 I should pick 36 and 249 for step 5, but what about step 2? After that is there anything else I should do? I want to make sure I do it right because my Hackmii won't load anymore to make or restore a backup of the nand. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Mighty channels works best with cIOS38 rev 17. That being said...above you would leave step 2 how it is, step 4 would be IOS38 and step 5 would be IOS249. After that is complete then to install 250 step 2 would be the same again, step 4 would be IOS57 and step 5 would be IOS250.

Why didn't you ask this in the guide?
    Damn I suck!!!!

You say to leave step 2 as it is, do you mean leave it at whatever the default is when i load the wad? And I should do IOS 250 also? If it's not a real complicated explanation what does IOS 250 do? I've never done anything with 250 before. Thanks and I have no idea why I didn't ask it in the guide, I guess I didn't really think about it. BTW I don't know what Mighty Channels is so I'm not really worried about it ATM.

Mighty channels is the updated triiforce. Triiforce does not work with rev 21, mighty channels does but not as well as when you use cIOS38 rev 17. So if you install 21 triiforce won't work at all, your original questions makes no sense that is why I mentioned mighty channels as it works with rev21.

When I said leave step 2 how it is I meant follow step 2 as written (not the default IOS that is on the screen).
    Damn I suck!!!!

Okay, that makes sense. I wondered why it had been so long since triiforce was updated. I got impatient last night and went ahead and did it. I installed rev21 as 249-38-249, and then 249-57-250 and everything works fine that I could see except triiforce as you stated above. I will try Mighty Channels tonight and see how it works. If it gives me problems can I still go back to 17 since I did 250 also? Thanks for the help.

yes you can but you can always put rev17 in slot 246,247 etc

having 249[38]rev21....better to use is 249[56]rev20 and 250[57]rev19 and you shouldn't need another cios for loading wii games....

So are you saying that I can install 247[38]rev17 and it won't hurt anything? After I do that all I would have to do is change the meta.xml file to say ios=247 right? That's what I gathered from your guide on Mighty Channels.

    Yep pretty simple...

since the installer cant do it you have to get the rev17 wad and use showmiiwads to change the slot it installs to ...have it all in the cios wads guide in my sig

So if I do that will the WiFi still work? In your guide it says it doesn't with rev 17
