    USB Loading Neogamma and IOS57

    Specs:
    System Menu 4.1u
    249-58-v21
    250-57-v21
    224-57-v5.1
    Neogamma Latest Beta
100GB WBFS on Generic USB Enclosure

I have problems loading COD:Black Ops, Kirby, Goldeneye, and HOTD:Overkill via CFG loader. I can play most of these titles burned to disc and loaded via Neogamma.

Interestingly I tried loading Black Ops and Kirby using Neogamma and its USB loading. Kirby works FINE. I was surprised that it loaded up considering CFG wouldn't load it at all, and I've tried all combinations of IOS's to no avail. However BlackOps freezes during the opening cut scene. I suspect the use of IOS58 but when I try using 249-57-V21 Neogamma does not detect my USB drive anymore. Reading it seems USB2.0 support was introduced in IOS58. Can IOS57 be patched for USB2.0 support, or is that even the issue?

    Combinations that work for me:
BlackOps - Neogamma 249-58-21 Loads then freezes - CFG FAIL all IOS
Kirby - Neogamma 249-58-21 works fine - CFG FAIL all IOS
Goldeneye - Not tested on USB - Burned DVD works fine - CFG FAIL all IOS
HOTD:Overkill - Not tested on USB - Burned DVD works fine - CFG FAIL all IOS
All other games work fine in CFG using misc combinations of IOS's

    Thanks.

    ---MERGED---

So with the release of the new Wanin fix I tried ModMii. I used the recommended IOS's and reloaded all of them via my WAD manager. Every single game now works in CFG-Loader. Makes me think [EDIT] the official installers and use ModMii from now on! I've used 'official installers' from 222 and 249 since I started to softmod my wii and had mostly luck with a few odd titles not working. It seems very odd to me that everything works flawlessly now. All the games I used to load with Neogamma via DVD work in CFG-Loader.

Anyways thought I'd share my luck. If you've followed all the guides and think you don't need to download the WAD's and install them manually, consider following the guides TO THE TEE! Alternatively ModMii makes it real easy to get all the WAD's you need.

    My new config:
    cIOS202[57]-V5
    cIOS222[38]-V5
    cIOS223[37-38]-V4
    cIOS224[57]-V5
    cIOS249[56]-V21d2x v2
    cIOS250[57]-V21d2x v2

    Update all your Ios's
    Mod Mii
    CIOX Rev21d2x-v2

NeoGamma uses IOS249, you should not have IOS249 with a base of 58. WiiPower recommends 56 as a base. You installed the wrong base IOS.

You must be doing something wrong, they work fine on my CFG.

Reading it seems USB2.0 support was introduced in IOS58.
When loading games thru a usb loader, only the cIOS is used, IOS's below IOS200 are not used. cIOS36 rev9 was the first cIOS to support USB2.0 speeds.

Makes me think [EDIT] the official installers and use ModMii from now on!
Where do you think the cIOS wads (that ModMii uses) came from? Somebody installed them to a Wii using the official installer, and then extracted them in the form of a wad. If you had installed the correct base to start with then you would have had no problems.

    My new config:
    cIOS202[57]-V5
    cIOS222[38]-V5
    cIOS223[37-38]-V4
    cIOS224[57]-V5
    cIOS249[56]-V21d2x v2
    cIOS250[57]-V21d2x v2
Now you have IOS249 with a base of 56, no wonder why it works now. Had you done that with the official installer then you wouldn't have made this post.

I understand you veterans get a little embittered with the same questions over and over.

I tried other bases than 58 but never had any luck. You provided some useful information I understand more clearly now.

    Thanks for the reply.
