I still don't see why someone would download an IOS pack to start with unless their Wii doesn't have an internet connection. Even then I don't see why they wouldn't just use NUSD themselves. But that's just my opinion, not taking away from your well written guide. I know you wrote it with the lazy noob in mind.
Lazy noob??? I didn't realize that's what I am. I never use wi-fi to get anything on my wii unless it throught the hbb.

LOL. No of course you are not. I just figured that's who Joostin wrote the guide for. I'm pretty sure all of the regular contributers can update their own IOS without a guide. I on the other hand use my wifi for everything but the HBB. I've played around with the HBB a little bit lately though. I had to download Midway Space Invaders Emulator from there because I couldn't find a decent source otherwise.

The zip extractor built into Windows Explorer will extract files even if they are corrupt.

Joostin looks down at skellinator from his Senior Member throne and laughs.

Create an md5 of the suspicious wad and compare the hash to a known working wad. Same ios/revision should produce the same hash right? Unless corrupt...

No, wads are generated in nusd rather than just downloaded as is... There is room for variation. Also wads from a disks update partition are different to ones from nusd

Wait, we have to read? Is there an audiobook?

    Edit: Here is the expanation:

A second difference may be noticed in the Certificate Chain added to the WAD. While it may appear entirely different, it is simply ordered in a different way, and the Wii sees nothing different. V1.1 of NUSD will order the certs in the most common way, so that difference is covered.

The only real difference is in some tickets. NUS has a variation on the ticket for a title, as do the WADs that come in discs. While they are different, the only changed values are small (ticket_id and DLC purchases). The big things like Title Key remain intact. There has been no issues using these tickets, which is understandable as many are probably on your Wii right now.

Forum being a text medium and all would result in reading even if I felt like typing it all out on my phone
