HELP! wiimotes lose sync when I try to launch bootmi

I'm a newbie to the wii hacking wolrd and I need some help. I installed HBC and bootmi as an ios. everytime I try to launch bootmi from the HBC my wiimotes lose sync. I don't know what to do. I've tried resyncing them with the orange sync buttons already. Can someone help me and let me know if I've done something wrong? thanks alot!

you need a game cube controller. or navigate with the buttons on the front of your console. power=move reset=select.

Thank you, I was able to navigate with the power and reset button, but now I'm having a different problem. When I go into Homebrew and try to launch bootmi, it takes me to a gray screen with four icons, one to go back to wii home, one to go back to HBC and one for the SD card. from the video that I was watching to do the softmod, I should've been taken to a screen where I could install the wad files. I'm not sure what to do or if I'm doing it correctly. Please help!

Well, that's your fail right there. You should try a guide from here. You Tube videos are set to fail. If you introduce yourself, you will get a list of great guides to help you with everything. Don't try and copy some monkey on you tube. The guys here know what they are doing and will help you not to brick your Wii.
