Help!! ... Softmodding and trying to use USB loader GX

    Good Afternoon,

After a lot of intense reading last night on this forum, other places and speaking to my mates and family I decided that I would try and softmod my Wii! My Wii is not bricked thank god! But I'm hitting a lot of problems with it.

    I used 2 guides:

This for Homebrew: Hack Your Wii for Homebrew without Twilight Princess

and this for USB loader GX How to Back Up and Play Your Wii Games from an External Hard Drive

The reason why I choose them was because theyíre very simple and I have learning difficulties plus my brother has successfully Softmod heís Wii with it as well.
I do not think I hit any problems installing all of this there was one issues when I was trying to install USB loader GX. I was installing IOS36 via DOP-Mii I did everything the guide said connected it to the internet etc and it installed a lot more than the 3 things in the screenshot it did then it did a ďmemory dumpĒ or something along those lines and I had to restart it. I did try to reinstall it but it said something that it had already installed or something like that.

I did carry on with guided and finished it off.

When I try to load the USB Loader GX the Wii just freezes with a black/blank screen and I have to pull the power out to restart it.

The next issues I have found is when I put in Wii Sports Resorts disc it say I have to update my Wii. I have not done this because Iím scared of bricking it!

Please help!! Iím happy if somebody can help me fix my Wii simply lol... Iím more than happy to Donate to the website/forum!

    Thanks in advance,

    Tim

wiihacks only supports guides from this site

post a sys check so we can see wat you have installed http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...tem-check.html

to block the disc update you should have priiloader installed. to check press power hold reset priiloader should start up go to system hacks enable block disc updates enable block online updates and save

Usb loader gx runs on ios 222 or 249, you have neither. In fact you have NO cios at all. You should follow the softmod any wii guide linked in my signature. It looks like all you have is the homebrew chhannel and bootmii. Once you have finished that guide completely, you can go to the GX guide, or use cfg (which will be installed while doing the guide), or even wiiflow. All 3 are good loaders.

You should make an introduction post in here:
    Introduce Yourself

The mods will give you a wealth of information to keep you on the right track.

You will not brick by updating, it is NOT recommended though. Any time you mess with your wii there is a possibility of bricking. That being said, No you are not going to brick your wii if you follow that guide correctly. Priiloader is part of the guide, be sure to do it! Your wii is on an old System menu, that most likely means you will be able to install bootmii as boot2. That is a great thing, makes you almost bullet proof. Do the guide and you will be a happy camper.

Run the whole guide from start to finish. You do have HBC, but probably not the most recent version. Your bootmii may not be right either. If you do the entire guide from start to finish, we will know what you have and will be able to support you on your questions. It's really only one little step extra anyhow.
