    I definitely have a bunch ... Now that I have this done and saved do I need a pc to finish this? I have a mac that I am using and the next step in this guide deals .exe ? is that on the wii or computer? with the sd:\md5summer.exe

    On the computer. It is essential that you verify the sums. You need to find an alternative to md5summer.exe for the Mac. Checking the sums tells you if the files are fine or corrupted.

    Didn't it do that already on the backup? through bootmii ... do you know of anything

    Or is it the OS that this is going to install in the next step ...

    The file pack you just downloaded (the one that had md5summer.exe) has a bunch of wad files in it. You need to install them, but during downloads files can get corrupted. You need to check to make sure they are valid, or you could damage your Wii. I found an program for Macs that you might want to try:
    Pescados Software - **checkSum+

    Sweet !! Worked well ... I did three checks with that and they all came up good !! So they are gtg then right ?

    Yes and yes. Was that app easy to use? I have been looking for a Mac app to check the md5 files in my IOS update guide.
