    virginize or what?

    Hi!

I am going to trade my Wii to Xbox360 (Sorry ) in local Gameshop and I was wondering what should I do with softmods? I think they won't accept it if the console is softmodded.

My Wii is on 4.0E version and it was bought in January 2007. I have tried to find some information what should I do and found some, but I am still not sure what should I do.

I red that if I just update console via official ways to version 4.3, the softmods just won't work and then the console would be "almost virgin". Nintendo could see that the console has been softmodded if it gets to repaired, but I think it wouldn't be problem because the warranty has expired. But is there chance of brick if I update?

Other way would be complete virginization, but the guide by Dogeggs for that didn't work so I don't know nothing about that. But there would be biggest chance to brick the console?

I also thought if I just remove all the visible marks of softmodding and just trade the console. Then I just hope that someone won't brick the Wii and that they can't track the problem to me.

Could someone say what should I do? Thanks.

Hi im no expert but im pretty sure its not recommended to viginise your wii if u update to system menu 4.2e or 4.3e then the softmods wont work and then i guess you could just delete the extra channels you have added to hide the evidence of a soft mod and as long as you update from a original disc from your region then you shouldnt brick. 2 Games i know of with system menu updates are Just dance 2 (4.2) and call of duty black ops (4.3) just make sure the game is the same region as your system menu or you will brick

Thanks for the anwer! What happens if I just update through settings menu? Do I brick? Because I think I won't be buying a new game just for updating.

How about if I just hide the evidence? If I remove HBC and other installed channnels and just left it there? How should I remove the channels?

You could get up to $100 on here for a boot2 Wii, and more if you include accessories. Another thing people will pay a lot for are SSBB, Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures, or some Yu-Gi-Oh game (I don't remember the name), because they are the only way to softmod a 4.3 Wii.

Virginizing is a really stupid thing to try. Even if you ignore all the features and brick protection you will lose, there is a good chance you will brick it yourself. Another thing is, even after virginizing, Nintendo can still tell you have had softmods.

I've been on this forum long enough to see my share of users regretting their decision to virginize, whether it it was because they ruined their Wii, or because they didn't appreciate what softmodding gave them.

Okay, I Won't virginize my Wii, I am too scared that I brick it. But I am still considering to trade my Wii in local gameshop, because I live in Finland so it would be too expensive to post it to world. So my only option is just cover all visible traces?
