Thread: homebrew doesn't recognize some of .dol .elf files

    homebrew doesn't recognize some of .dol .elf files

    trying to install HackMii V8 but homebrew doesn't even show the application. boot.elf is in sd:/appa/bootmii/ directory. what could be the reson? thanks

    Because the boot.elf/dol needs to be in SD:/apps/appname/boot.dol to launch from HBC.

    If you are trying to load it via bannerbomb then in needs to be in SD:/boot.dol.
    Damn I suck!!!!

    i followed the tutorial and placed the file as SD: /apps/BootMiiHBCUpgrade/boot.elf . still doesn't seen by HBC

    HBC doesn't support .elf anymore does it? Try changing the name to boot.dol and see if that works.

    download-extract-put the hackmii installer folder in apps folder on your sd..make sure your sd is fat32(format)

    sd in wii...launch hbc and see it it shows hackmii installer

    doesn't work as well. moreover, when I send the boot.elf file through TransmitMii it works just fine. we come back to why HBC reads some files but not all of them?

    it does as i have it working .....also bad idea on converting hackmii installer from boot.elf to boot.dol

    might be your sd reformat try another sd card.....

    I'm sure you're right. I wasn't thinking about hackmii in particular. I've never had luck with .elfs though. I don't think I've ever got one to work without re-naming it.
