    xwhiite 0.1 and mystiic

    Hello,

I have xwhiite up and running on my wii but it has no wifi support. I understand that xwhiite 0.2 does but it seems generally unsupported and I cannot find everything I need.

I was doing some reading and saw that another wii linux distro called msytiic has wifi working "out of the box" With this in mind I have two questions

1 - can someone point me in the direction of where I can find mystiic?

2 - can anyone help me get wifi going on xwhiite if question 1 is unanswerable?

also... Ive noticed that people get defensive when people ask for download links on this forum. Just so everyone knows linux falls uner the Gnu Public License which means anyone can have it, use it, or change it at will so relax! its all good

    1. mystiic's website does not appear to be up and running so I don't think the mystiic dristro is available. Their website should be http://wiki.mystiic.org

You might try their IRC Channel server: irc.mystiic.org channel #maiome.lobby!

Another option is Arch linux, but it does require a bit more work and there is a pretty extensive tutorial here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Wii_Tutorial

    2. I found a few tutorials around that might help : [Tutorial] Wii Linux (XWhiite 0.2) with working WiFi - GBAtemp.net is one

According to the information I've read, you need to have bootmii (or another bootloader) installed and have the Nintendo boot straight to the GNU/Linux OS or else the Wifi won't work. (eg. you can't run it from the Homebrew channel).

Here's a really good source of information just regarding Linux on GC/Wii. Documentation - gc-linux

I am personally am trying to get whiite installed with wifi. I don't like that xwhiite is using Etch (Debian 4) so I'm going with whiite since it's running Lenny (Debian 5). I figure as long as the repos are working, I can just do a sudo apt-get install openbox3 and mimic xwhiite.

( I don't frequent this forum, I just happened to be doing some research and ran into your post. I figured I would try to help out.)
There's a ton of information out there, it's just hard to weed through it to find the good stuff.
