SD Gecko - Play GC backups?

Just a lil' quikie question :

Does the SD Gecko play gamecube backups? I can't be bothered purchasing a drive to read those mini DVDs and burn things to 'em, so if possible, I'd rather use an SD Gecko (Mainly because it's £5 if I buy online :3)

Is the SD Gecko a no-go or can I load my GC backups?

    Thanks in advance!

GC backups require a DVD drive capable of reading backups on the Wii. No amount of wishing it away will change it. There was a rudimentary effort to make them work on USB HD, but thus far too buggy even to entertain.

Well thats odd. Found this here : A way to boot gamecube backups! - GBAtemp.net

Seems to be a guide on loading GC games with an SD gecko. Apparently it works.

I stand corrected (can ya tell I don't do GC stuff). Stomp would be able to comment more fully on that, he's our GC guy

You could check my Swiss guide in my sig. I finally got a game to work. It's not perfect but with further development and testing it's only bound to get better.
